Frequently asked questions
What happens if you go out of business?
Your gateway keeps running. The product runs on your machine and your licence is yours from the moment you buy it. Once you have held it for twelve months, the gateway no longer checks anything with us: it works with no time limit, even if our server never answers again. Before that, it checks its licence once a day and keeps sending through any outage of ours of up to 30 days (15 days of validity, then 15 days of grace); beyond that, sending pauses until the next successful check, without losing any queued message.
Do I need a permanent Internet connection?
Not permanently. The gateway needs the local network to talk to your phones, the Internet if you call its API from outside and, during the first twelve months, a short licence check with our server once a day. That check carries no message and no contact, and it can fail for up to 30 days without stopping anything. Our central server is never on the path of a message.
What does a message really cost?
Whatever your carrier plan charges, and nothing more. We bill neither the message sent, nor the message received, nor the number of devices.
How is the gateway installed?
A single command, on your own server or on a free-for-life machine at a cloud provider. The installation guide and a free video tutorial walk through every step, up to pairing the first phone.
What exactly does the licence cover?
An unlimited right of use in time on its major version line, and every update of that line free for life, security fixes included. A future version 2 will be a paid upgrade.
Can I move to another server after buying?
Yes. The machine fingerprint is reset from your account area, without contacting us and at no extra cost.
